xsane-plugin

Hi. I'm not sure whether the development of Xsane-gimp plugin now is GIMP responsibility or Xsane developer responsibility since, because Xsane developer is no more active since many years (about 6 or 7 years old no any update).

For that I decides to post this issue here:

Native Xsane has very strong & powerful descreen (de-speckles) function. But this not included in Xsane-gimp plugin.

My suggestion are:

1) to implement this very important feature in Xsane-plugin. It is already existing in native Xsane.

But to do this it need modification as follow: in native Xsane, this function is available after scanning is completed: 1st scan paper, then preview window will open which contain this option & user need to repeat it every time. This will interfere with GIMP display. So, my suggestion is that:

Make this feature available under "enhancement" tab of "setup" of "performances", so that user can check it's box to activate it - remain active as long as it's box is already checked by user. Please look for screenshot.

2) I suggest on you to add NEW feature of "Deskew" to be implemented within same "enhancement" tab of "setup" of "performances"

It will be very nice if you can develop Xsane-gimp plugin. But if not it will be bad news since Xsane seem to be stop from dvelopment since long time.

Best.

The xsane plug-in is not maintained by us, but the original developer and many people would surely like if someone stepped up and started to care about it. Maybe you want to do this?

@Michael Schumacher

Unfortunately I'm not a programmer & has no facilities to achieve this.
