Description Artem 2016-12-12 09:56:41 UTC
Description of problem:
In "Gnome settings / Users" i switch slider "Automatic login" to "ON" then reboot the system and get gdm login screen instead of automatic login. Ok i checked "/etc/gdm/custom.conf" file and it has following strings:

[daemon]
AutomaticLoginEnable=True
AutomaticLogin=sherbakov

so settings have been applied with no actual result.

I encounter the same problem: no more autologin after upgrading from Fedora 24 to Fedora 25.
Comment 2 Gwendal 2016-12-18 10:45:24 UTC
Update: this problem seems indeed related to Wayland. In my case, the problem disappeared after setting WaylandEnable=false in /etc/gdm/custom.conf.

I'm also seeing this behavior.
In fact, if I enable Auto Login, not only does it _not_ auto log that account in, but it actually prevents me from getting past the lockscreen at all!

Entering the correct password at the lock screen simple presents me with the lock screen again!

Switching to a regular terminal, logging in, and issuing `startx` works fine, or setting the login shell to be either "Gnome Classic" or "Gnome on Xorg" also bypasses the issue, so it definitely seems related to Wayland.

Fedora 25 x86_64, 100% patched as of 6/12/17
gdm version 3.22.3-1.fc25
