I have an un-deletable "Personal" calendar created by Evolution/EDS that I never use. I unchecked it in GNOME Calendar (and EDS)'s settings, but it still shows up as the default entry for when I create an event in GNOME Calendar.

As far as i can tell the checkbox in screenshot 2 is only equivalent to show/hide the calendar entries ("Display calendar") in the views.

Checking a different calendars "Add new events to this calendar by default" will remove it as default as seen in screenshot 2 & 3.

A possible solution would be to add a disable calendar as third option in specific calendar setting so it does not appear at all.

As an additional note, there seems to be a bug that the "Add new events to this calendar by default" option does switch back to the "Personal" calendar without the user selecting the checkbox.
