Description vladimir benes 2016-11-23 09:09:15 UTC
I think Fedora 10 is not users want to install anymore. We should strip all these old and importantly add new Fedoras, Ubuntus, CentOSes, Suses, etc. I think having something like latest and -1 versions with server/workstation/cloud/whatever variants should be sufficient.

gnome-boxes-3.22.2-1.fc25.x86_64
libosinfo-1.0.0-1.fc25.x86_64

from the list that is available when you start typing in url field under New -> Enter URL. Is this something pulled in from libosinfo? Anyway, the list should be made somehow smoother and nicer and more importantly up2date with latest and latest-1 versions of all available images.

reproducer
1. click New
2. click Enter URL
3. type in Ubuntu

ok, I've found that ubuntu 16 is there but you have to scroll down a bit as old releases are sorted first. The same with Fedora. You are able to find image easily according to number but it's not so easy to find image according to distro name.

So I would like to see something more user friendly like showing images after writing "fedora 24" or "Ubuntu 16".

Anyway, even in the current approach we do not have tha latest debian 8.6 and fedora 25 (and as I said we have fedora 10-22) which is in my opinion not needed anymore as it's lifetime (and support) ended.

Yes but that is just URL completion currently.

Hmm.. yeah sure. But there is also bug#745291.

Makes sense, yes.

I don't agree with this part. I think it might be a good idea though to ensure URLs are listed by release date (please file a separate bug for this, if this is not already the case). Sometimes people do like to try old OSs and Boxes is meant to be able to do that.
