Description Bobinfan 2016-11-12 14:35:09 UTC
When help is called from the File - Print menu the page displayed in Help does not match the page actually displayed by Gimp 2.8. Several tabs and adjustments are missing. Help file was downloaded and installed with the original Gimp 2.8 download.

A second problem (bug) occurs when using the printer preference button to communicate with the printer, in this case a Canon iP4200. Changes made in Canon preferences screen are not transmitted to the Gimp print module. The case in point involves printing a photo (2000 x 2500 px) that was set with Print Size in Image menu to 4 X 6 inches and the paper size in the printer preferences was set to 4 x 6 inches and the print style setting was kept at Normal sized Printing. Gimp print module showed the preview with the background paper size set as the default letter size page. The resultant print on 4x6 stock is only a small portion of the upper left corner of the original photo.
Other settings of the print style borderless, fit to page etc. resulted in the same print.

The loss of the adjustments in the print module, as noted in first paragraph, may be affecting the printing process in the second example.

This same photo prints perfectly in Picasa 3 and PhotoShop CS6.

Please submit a screenshot of what you actually see, when you run File / Print.

As for the printing issue, could you please submit a separate bug report for that?

Thank you!

The dialogs are somewhat platform-specific.
