GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 76530
XScreenSaver module
Last modified: 2018-05-24 10:18:56 UTC
What will do this module? I don't understand it.
I think he means visualization
What he meant was some way to have Rhythmbox provide visualisation that could be used as an "XScreenSaver hack". Meaning that someone would play music, lock the screen and get nice visuals on the screen from the music being played.
Full screen saver is you ask me.
Sorry I meant: full screen visualization if you ask me.
Is there an API for getting spectral data from gstreamer? Or less optimally, a way to plug into the audio stream in order to FFT it?
You can insert a tee element into the output pipeline, and feed it off to something else. If you want visualisations, playbin (which we use) can do that automatically - we would need to handle settup up the window and the like, or use BaconVideoWidget.
