Description Pierre Ossman 2016-04-18 10:00:52 UTC
I have some software that is installed directly via the RPM (no repo). Unfortunately Gnome Software is buggy and does the wrong thing when I open an updated version of the software.

Instead of showing me an upgrade window, it just opens the information for the currently installed version. So I have a big red "Remove" and the regular "Website", "History" and "Launch".

I'm fairly sure this has worked before, so either is this a random bug or a regression.

It gets worse, uninstalling the software is an insufficient workaround. All it does is change "Remove" to "Install" for the old version, which just throws an error.

Is this still true for 3.21? We added an update button for exactly this use case.

I'm on 3.20.4 now, where upgrades seem to work (but the button says "Install" and the history isn't updated).

Sounds like this has been fixed.
