GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 757388
Should preserve XML comments
Last modified: 2018-03-26 15:50:21 UTC
Sometimes I have a Glade XML file with a widget in a particular place, or a property with a particular value, and it's not obvious why that should be so. I'd like to be able to add clarifying comments to the Glade XML file and have Glade preserve them when it re-saves the file. (I realize this isn't trivial; you'd have to figure out which item a particular comment is attached to, and preserve that, and delete the comment if the item was deleted, etc. A 90% rule of thumb might be that if a comment is right above an <object>, it refers to that object; if a comment is right above a <property> or <signal>, it refers to that property value or signal connection.)
