GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 755536
epiphany-3.16.3: epiphany-search-provider shows a lot of errors in logs about not finding a file
Last modified: 2018-08-03 20:36:58 UTC
I can see many errors like this in journalctl output: org.gnome.EpiphanySearchProvider[510]: ** (epiphany-search-provider:7177): WARNING **: Error saving EphyNodeDB as XML: Falló al crear el archivo «/home/pacho/.config/epiphany/ephy-bookmarks.xml.6HDR5X»: No existe el fichero o el directorio It's about failing to create that file because "no such file or directory" Indeed, /home/pacho/.config/epiphany/ directory doesn't exist (I think because I have never launched epiphany)... maybe the search provider should create the directory itself if not present :/ Thanks for your help
(In reply to Pacho Ramos from comment #0) > Indeed, /home/pacho/.config/epiphany/ directory doesn't exist (I think > because I have never launched epiphany)... maybe the search provider should > create the directory itself if not present :/ Yup. I've been meaning to file a bug about this for about a year now. Indeed, the cause is that you ran the search provider before launching Epiphany. I had a couple more warnings too: ** (process:6358): WARNING **: Error adding cookie (name=_session_id, domain=_session_id) to database ** (epiphany:6348): WARNING **: Error saving session: Error opening file '/home/michael/.config/epiphany/session_state.xml': No such file or directory ** (epiphany:6348): ERROR **: Could not modify URL in urls table: attempt to write a readonly database
