GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 754611
Add support for .is_audio_player for iPods
Last modified: 2018-05-24 18:33:09 UTC
I don't use the iPod plugin since it's totally broken on iOS >= 4. However I do have an app installed on my iPhone called PwnTunes that allows users to dump music to the "My Music" folder on the device. I have a .is_audio_player file at the root of the directory but it does nothing. As a workaround, I currently sync my music to a .img file(loop device) and then manually copy everything to the device. Actually with PwnTunes, if the device is mounted as a Camera(gphoto2), music could also be potentially synced but I can't add a .is_audio_player file in that situation.
have you disabled the ipod plugin?
Yes. The iPod is mounted using gvfs-afc.
oh, ok. since I have no way of working on this and it's a pretty niche thing to start with, I'm not going to work on it, but I'd consider patches.
