Description Jo 2015-07-19 10:37:41 UTC
sometimes i need unique patters who create only one tile. (be it a comic baloon for text, be it a signature, ect.)

Possible to add such a checkbox/button?

That can be done in a few rather simple steps:
1) drag the pattern to the tool box, thus opening it as a new image
2) Edit->copy (ctrl + C), and either close or switch back to your work image
3) Ensure you are using the clipboard brush, and paint.

Since I can't see a lot of uses for this feature, that it is easily done, and that it would require one to have the pattern as the brush to allow for its positioning anyway, I'd say this is "not a bug".

However, a context menu entry of "use this pattern as brush" on the patterns context could do little harm - but if you are using patterns in this way, why not to save then as brushes to start with?

no problem, i marked/suggested it as enhancement for patterns.

yes, thats correct, usually i use brushes for the purpose (stamps). I thought such an enhancement for patterns could come handy, to have patterns behave like brushes when you paint with the clone tool. The suggestion isnt so bladant as it may seem.
