Description Christian Stadelmann 2015-06-19 16:45:44 UTC
The current dialog for "icon-name" property of e.g. GtkImage has a simple search.
Currently, if you search for "find" you will only get a suggestion to "find-location-symbolic" but you probably want to search for "edit-find" or "edit-find-replace" or one of its symbolic variants. It is only possible to find items if you know the exact name of the icon or at least the first few character until whatever you typed only matches one single icon name.
What could be improved here:
1. Provide a full text search, so that "find" also matches "edit-find"
2. Filter according to what the user entered

If you e.g. take the gtk3-icon-browser (from gtk3 git repo or fedora's gtk3-devel package) it does exactly what I would like to see here. Maybe glade could use the icon browser instead of its own dialog.
