Description A 2015-02-28 02:16:32 UTC
Could Gnumeric support a simultaneous editing capability (multiple users accessing the same spreadsheet file at the same time, seeing each other's edits)?

I understand other office applications may be moving this direction, it sounds potentially useful to me. there would have to be some mechanism so two people cannot access the same editable element at the same time.

We can actually do that right now and have been able to do for >10 years.

But... It's a security issue.

To try it out, do View->New on a new display.

1. If you can open windows on someone else's display, they are at risk.
2. If you succeed, the other user can edit your files.
