Evolution has some issue with black preview and new mail window. Preview window can be fixed with this

but it does not fix new mail window.

Thanks for a bug report. What is your exact evolution version, please? In any case, you are right, the colors in themes are unreliable in gtk3, which is a pita for evolution, which tries to derive theme colors for WebKit-based message preview. I ask for the exact version because Evolution 3.12.4 contains commit 363da507a4e2bc, though there can be more related even after this version. Current evolution stable version is 3.12.11, which has no change with this regard from 3.12.10.

You're right. It is version 3.10.4. I've tested it on 3.12.11 on Archlinux and it seems OK.
