GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 732544
Show controls when a video ends
Last modified: 2018-05-24 10:55:19 UTC
When a video ends, the user has to do something - either play again, or navigate to another video. Right now the experience isn't very helpful - the video ends, and there is no hint about what you might want to do next. When a video reaches the end, it would be really helpful if any hidden controls were exposed (the navigation bar and header bar, if in fullscreen mode). We could also show additional controls in the middle of the window, also, such as "Play Again" and "Choose Another Video".
I'm not sure that the visuals are quite right here, but this gives an idea of what I had in mind: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/gnome-design-team/gnome-mockups/master/videos/1366-playback-finished.png When a video finishes playing, the play controls bar is permanently visible, a shade is shown over the video, and the large buttons are displayed on top.
