GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 727913
Limit number of items shown in the GtkCombobox
Last modified: 2018-04-15 00:37:08 UTC
Apparently there is no documented way of limiting the number of items in a GtkComboBox. See: http://www.gtkforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=178755 also: http://www.learngtk.org/python_gtk3_tutorial/html/combobox.html https://developer.gnome.org/gtk3/stable/GtkComboBox.html
so, you want to limit the height of the menu, to show scroll arrows if more items than specified are present in the model? (rather than the current behaviour of only showing scroll arrows when there is not enough space on screen) Now is the time to submit a patch, to get the new API into GTK+ 4.
Could you clarify in more detail what functionality you want?
As announced a while ago, we are migrating to gitlab, and bugs that haven't seen activity in the last year or so will be not be migrated, but closed out in bugzilla. If this bug is still relevant to you, you can open a new issue describing the symptoms and how to reproduce it with gtk 3.22.x or master in gitlab: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gtk/issues/new
