Apparently there is no documented way of limiting the number of items in a GtkComboBox.

so, you want to limit the height of the menu, to show scroll arrows if more items than specified are present in the model? (rather than the current behaviour of only showing scroll arrows when there is not enough space on screen)

Now is the time to submit a patch, to get the new API into GTK+ 4.

As announced a while ago, we are migrating to gitlab, and bugs that haven't seen activity in the last year or so will be not be migrated, but closed out in bugzilla.

If this bug is still relevant to you, you can open a new issue describing the symptoms and how to reproduce it with gtk 3.22.x or master in gitlab:
