Comment #2 to comment #4 lack context, so I'll quote what she said from the askubuntu thread:
"i fixed it and sorta figured it out. if it helps, i first let my ipod open with amarock. it must have added some sort of file to my ipod, because i was able to load it on banshee afterwards"

Elizabeth, did you at any point use iTunes in the meantime? (Between upgrading your banshee version?)
Comment 6 Elizabeth Nelson 2014-03-09 22:30:04 UTC
no i have not used itunes in almost a year

Comment 9 Elizabeth Nelson 2014-03-09 23:42:03 UTC
i don't remember, but i think it was the most recent version, as i had it on automatic update check, and always accepted the updates

That doesn't necessarily mean it's the most recent version. It depends on the version of your system, what Linux distro and version do you use?
Comment 11 Elizabeth Nelson 2014-03-09 23:47:49 UTC
i used ubuntu 13.10
Comment 12 Elizabeth Nelson 2014-03-09 23:49:14 UTC
can you also help me with allvideodownloader, or do i have to go to someone else for that?

This is not a forum, this is the banshee issue tracker. You would need to find the allvideodownloader issue tracker for that.

Banshee is not under active development anymore and had its last code changes more than three years ago. Its codebase has been archived.

Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping to reflect
reality. Please feel free to reopen this ticket (or rather transfer the project
to GNOME Gitlab, as GNOME Bugzilla is being shut down) if anyone takes the
responsibility for active development again.
See https://gitlab.gnome.org/Infrastructure/Infrastructure/issues/264 for more info.
