The revised CA map from /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/ca (21.00 KB, application/octet-stream)

Description Leslie Satenstein 2014-01-26 17:11:16 UTC
I use the ca(fr), Canadian French keyboard layout. In all versions of Fedora up to in includeing the initial version Fedora 20, I was able to assign the Euro symbol to the E or 4 or 5 key.

Following tweak-tool updates, I can still do the assignment for the USA default layout, but not for Canadian French layout. It worked but some Gnome update has broken this option. I have had to revert back to Fedora19 to enable the entering of the € character.

This is not a request, it is a bug/problem with an incomplete update or upgrade for the current GNOME version as of 2014 01 26.

I have circumvented the problem by modifying

/usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/ca now have the Euro on the E key and the Yen on the Y key.

The revised CA map from /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/ca

A manual update of the CA layout to bring it to the reality that the Euro and the yen are no longer irrelevant currencies, and need to be included in the keyboard layout.

Please don't use Critical for non-critical issues.
