Description David Ronis 2013-12-17 19:35:33 UTC
I'd like to be able to conditionally hide rows or columns based on some logical test on a cell (or range of cells). If this isn't currently possible consider this a feature request.

Thanks

David

That is certainly not currently possible.

It is also likely quite a lot of work. What is the use case for this?

I maintain a spreadsheet showing enrollment data for courses we offer. There is about a decade's worth of data, and about 1/4 of the entries haven't been offered in several years (courses are phased in/out, reorganized, etc.). Normally, I hide all but the last 3 columns (years) of data, and the obsolete courses simply take up space. My current solution is to maintain 2 versions of the spreadsheet, one "pruned"
the other not. It would be better to simply hide any row where the enrollment was 0 say for the last 3 years. I don't know how to do this within gnumeric, other than manually.
