GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 710038
'View' button in "updates are available" notification does not work
Last modified: 2013-10-26 01:01:00 UTC
I haven't tested with the latest git snapshot packages from http://people.freedesktop.org/~hughsient/fedora/20/x86_64/ yet, but with the versions available in current F20 stable (i.e. what's going into F20 Beta builds), the View button on the "Updates are available" notification doesn't appear to do anything. I don't get a crash notification after clicking it so I don't think it tries to launch something and that thing crashes. The user experience is simply that you click the button, the notification goes away, and nothing at all else appears to happen. Presumably it should launch gnome-software with the Updates pane selected (or switch to it and select that pane if it's already running).
Also valid in 3.10.1.
Can you get the exact error please, You need to do something like this: killall gnome-settings-daemon /usr/libexec/gnome-settings-daemon --debug Then wait for the notification, then click the button. If gnome-software doesn't appear then it should give a WARNING on the console. Thanks!

Okay, fixed in gnome-settings-daemon: https://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-settings-daemon/commit/?id=8489dffe54e7c8374e6068f8e70cf4f8c09e0609
1-)after shutdown and update of gnome3.10.1 from f20 Beta TC-5 D/L DVD to Hard disk (9 1/20 minutes) and reboot into gnome3.10.1: a pop up appears offering to show the files updated. It does nothing. 2-)the "settings /details" update button does nothing also except to show updates are available or up to date.
satellit: I filed https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=710595 for your problem #2 when you mentioned it to me; it's already fixed in upstream.
