I've enabled IM status in Rhythmbox, but it doesn't do anything, my empathy status remains 'available'. I have checked the forums but everything suggests that this plugin should just work.

I'm using Ubuntu 13.04 on a system 76 galago ultra pro, I had the same problems on a Samsung laptop I had earlier in the year.

A variety of problems with this plugin have been fixed since 2.98. Reopen if you still have problems with 3.0 or later.
