Description John Ralls 2013-07-25 23:01:02 UTC
gtkwindow.c hard-codes priv->mnemonic_modifier = GDK_MOD1_MASK. This captures Alt-key events and prevents the entry of alternate keys on Macs.

Bug 663856 fixed this for accelerators; similar magic needs to be applied for mnemonics as well.
Comment 1 John Ralls 2013-07-26 00:00:59 UTC
Sorry, But 663856 isn't quite the right one: It's Bug 659602 that implements the modifier_intent stuff that finally resolved the problem for accelerators.

Other germane bugs are Bug 605799 and Bug 607115.
