When favouriting a photo, the heart icon which appears on top is too big, and not transparent, which hides a big chunk of the picture.

This should be better in 3.8.0. Can you try it?

Indeed, it is much less intrusive. Maybe a bit too small now?

I don't know if it matters though, given that there is a dedicated view to access favourite pictures.

However, it doesn't hide one third of the picture any more, which is definitely a huge improvement. :)

Jimmac wanted them to be small.

I am closing this because the major issue highlighted in this bug has been solved. Feel free to open new bugs if you want to further fine tune the emblems. eg., I can see that their position on the picture might need some tuning because the checkboxes in selection mode occlude the emblems.
