The circle doesn't move!

I decided to erase my 500 GB Hard Disk, writing over the disk with 0s. Overall the experience is slick and smooth. Off in the left sidebar, a circle is rotating to indicate progress. However, in the middle of the screen under Volumes, at the bottom left of the section "500 GB Unknown" there is a circle made up of eight dots that is just sitting there. I'm guessing that's supposed to be another progress indicator that's broken; if it's supposed to be something else, I'm confused.

Video attached so you can see what I'm talking about. This is gnome-disk-utility 3.6.1.
