Description Lucas Beeler 2013-02-28 01:11:26 UTC
A consortium of digital camera manufacturers has introduced the MPF (multi-picture format) extension to the standard JPEG/EXIF file format. The standard is described here: http://www.cipa.jp/english/hyoujunka/kikaku/pdf/DC-007_E.pdf. A variety of Samsung, Sony, and Fuji digital cameras now write MPF JPEG files. The gdk-pixbuf library errors out when attempting to load at least some of these files.
Comment 1 Lucas Beeler 2013-02-28 01:13:12 UTC
Two MPF JPEG files generated by a Samsung digital camera that cannot be loaded with gdk-pixbuf are available here: http://redmine.yorba.org/issues/4519
Comment 2 Bastien Nocera 2013-03-05 15:25:02 UTC
$ djpeg SAM_0135.JPG > foo.ppm
Corrupt JPEG data: premature end of data segment
Invalid JPEG file structure: two SOF markers

The generated file is readable but libjpeg-turbo doesn't like it.
Comment 3 Bastien Nocera 2016-12-30 10:19:58 UTC
Example files are 404.

Thats bug 718123
Comment 5 Bastien Nocera 2018-01-22 16:05:50 UTC
Ideally, somebody would report this to libjpeg/libjpeg-turbo to handle.
