GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 692860
Application pop-up menu bar not visible in full screen mode
Last modified: 2021-05-26 09:24:48 UTC
When connecting to a remote machine using the RDP protocol, vinagre shows no pop-up menu bar in full screen mode. This prevents a user from leaving full screen mode, closing a connection or switching to other connections. This used to work in Fedora 17. VNC connections still show the expected pop-up menu. System: Fedora 18, 64bit (Gnome 3.6.2)
Steps to reproduce: 1. Open vinagre 2. Choose "Connect" from the menu bar 3. Choose "RDP" protocol 4a. Leave "Fullscreen" option unchecked, connect and then switch to full screen mode via the full screen mode button 4b. Choose "Fullscreen" option and connect Expected result: A pop-up bar shows when moving the mouse pointer to the top middle of the screen Actual result: No pop-up bar visible This also applies for bookmarked fullscreen connections

Confirm on Gentoo and Ubuntu with RDP session.
Same problem on Fedora 18: Name : vinagre Arch : i686 Version : 3.6.2 Release : 2.fc18 This problem does not allow using multitab while connected to fullscreen rdp session.
Same problem in VNC mode. This bug has been reported in fedora 20 (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1021838) and in ubuntu 14.04 and 14.04.1 LTS (https://bugs.launchpad.net/fedora/+source/vinagre/+bug/1312780)
same here with each protocol; version 3.18.2
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org. As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately quite limited so not every ticket can get handled). If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent and supported software version of Vinagre, then please follow https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines and create a new enhancement request ticket at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/vinagre/-/issues/ Thank you for your understanding and your help.
