GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 683753
Changing Compose key shortcut to capslock should ensure capslock is off
Last modified: 2018-01-24 15:05:41 UTC
Why: - I wanted to change my compose key shortcut to Capslock. - So I selected 'disabled' and pressed capslock to assign the new shortcut. - Only then I noticed it showed a popup menu in which capslock was an option. Result: - Compose key as capslock - Capslock is on - No way to turn off Expected: - Compose key as capslock - Capslock off please :)
So, are you asking that 1) the shortcut should be set by just pressing CapsLock when the row is selected; or 2) we turn the caps lock state off when people set CapsLock as a shortcut to something?
In GNOME 3.22, we don't have the setting for the Compose key anymore in the Keyboard, but in gnome-tweak-tool. Bug 771009 follows up on that change, and we're unlikely to bring back a setting for the compose key, so move this to gnome-tweak-tool.
