Description Allan Day 2012-08-11 10:41:00 UTC
I'm assuming that this is an AisleRiot bug; apologies if it isn't.

Right now, Aiselriot provides two application launchers - AisleRiot Solitaire and Freecell Solitaire. This goes against the mental model for applications, and causes some real problems.

 * You can't individually install or remove the games
 * You can't run the games at the same time (as you would expect to)
 * There are mismatches between the launcher name and the app menu (the launcher is labelled 'Freecell Solitaire', but the app menu reads 'Aisleriot Solitaire')

Each application launcher should stand in for a single, independent application.

I'd recommend including a single desktop file.

I'm going to assume this is motivated by a bad interaction with BAMF (which I'm not currently in a position to test). If so, I think BAMF should (but does not currently) provide a way to mark secondary application launchers as such, and link to the primary launcher.

Not that we should necessarily have a second launcher in this case, but a secondary launcher is a valid decision and should be possible to support.

We agreed on IRC to drop the freecell launcher for 3.5.next and see if we any pushback. Longer term we´ll work on making it clearer to the user that he can switch games in aisleriot (I´ve seen people being totally unaware of the other 80+ solitaire games apart the spider one they´ve always been playing...).

Seems that this was fixed a while ago:
