Description John Popelish 2012-06-02 01:12:07 UTC
I made a time lapse sequence of JPG images (117 total images, at final size, 1 second duration, each) but both playback and rendering stall, without error message, at about frame 75. The stall occurred around frame 67 if the original images were larger than the rendered size. I tried many different renderings, but all stall at about the same point.

If I first play the sequence starting after frame 75, the playback proceeds to the end, but subsequently playing from the beginning stalls around frame 30, after that.

If I click any control except pause while stalled, the program completely locks and I have to force a quit.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.
However, you are using a version that is too old and not supported anymore. We're no longer working on that version, so unfortunately there will not be any bug fixes for the version that you use.

By upgrading to a newer version of pitivi you could receive bug fixes and new functionality. You may need to upgrade your Linux distribution to run a newer version.

You could use the GStreamer developers PPA to get newer version of the packages on stable Ubuntu releases (see https://launchpad.net/~gstreamer-developers/+archive)

Please feel free to reopen this bug if the problem still occurs with the latest pitivi release.

In addition, for your particular use case, you might be interested in a commandline solution for converting your images into a video clip:
