GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 676162
Ungrouping doesn't work?
Last modified: 2012-10-13 14:19:34 UTC
Rather than binding the audio to a video clip that has audio, allow us to delete the audio, but keep the video.
Hi, this can already be done using the ungroup (on unlink?) buttons on the timeline toolbar :)
I pressed ungroup, then pressed delete, it still deleted the clip with the audio.
Selecting the audio after ungrouping re-groups the clip with the audio.
Created attachment 214210 [details] screencast Huh, does it not do this for you?
If it doesn't do the same as the screencast above, perhaps it's experiencing errors, see what happens when you run it from a terminal. In any case however, PiTiVi's core is being replaced by GStreamer Editing Services. This is a major overhaul and we sadly can't investigate much bugs that occur on the "traditional" core of PiTiVi. At the same time, I know for certain that (un)grouping has not yet been reimplemented in GES, it is in the plans for GSoC this summer.
The screencast also shows ungrouping a split audio. I want to ungroup an entire audio (which is the same length as the video) from the video, so that the video has no audio at all. Also, when I press split, everything pretty much breaks anyway. I wish I could screencast myself, but my GL drivers are being screwy, and I'd only be able to screencast via Windows. But since PiTiVi has no windows port (nor will ever) and I'm not willing to compile a gnome environment into Windows (Since the current versions of cygwin are extremely outdated) it will never happen. Mark the bug as invalid if you must. I don't know where to get your GES Version either (Likely not even as a binary yet I'm sure.)
> I want to ungroup an entire audio (which is the same length as the video) > from the video, so that the video has no audio at all. That's exactly what the screencast above shows... > But since PiTiVi has no windows port (nor will ever) We're not against the idea. It will have a Windows port if someone offers to test, package and maintain it on Windows. So far, nobody has offered to do this. > I don't know where to get your GES Version either > (Likely not even as a binary yet I'm sure.) https://wiki.pitivi.org/wiki/Building_with_GES Not recommended for production use of course, as we're blocked by bugs in gstreamer.
