Cisco Nexus 7000 Shape file

I have created new shape file for Cisco Nexus 7000 switches. This shows 1 SUP, 2 32 port Fiber Modules and 1 48 Port UTP Module. Also intend to create more Cisco & Networking shapes which are useful in creating realistic network diagrams. Request if these can be added to the shapes repository.

Thanks
V S Rao

The shape has about 1400 connection points, so IMO it needs some work to be added anywhere.
Alos it is certainly not a bug o Dia to not include it, setting enhancement.

Hi,

Thanks for your comments. I agree that its not a bug & is an enhancement. However I did not know how to upload more shapes so that everyone could use them, so flagged it as a bug. Coming to the issue of connection points etc let me give a brief background.

I am not from a programming background & do not know any programming (any kind, C, C++, Java, Perl, Python, XML etc etc). The only way I know how to add a new shape is to create a drawing in Dia using the existing elements/shapes (lines, rectangles, circles etc) and create the required shape out of it. With the result I am unable to manipulate the original elements which come with their own connection points etc. Ideally I would like to be able to have connection points wherever required.

I am planning on creating a lot of shapes which are very useful for creating network diagrams with as realistic look as possible. If you could give a pointer as to how I can create shapes given my non-programming background, it would be of great help. And I intend to share all my efforts with the user community so that the power of Dia is truly exploited by all.

Thanks and Regards
V S Rao.
