Description Christoph Wickert 2011-07-09 17:14:46 UTC
Description of problem:
evolution-rss completely locks up evolution while fetching feeds. The UI no longer responds, you cannot click, type or do anything.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
evolution-rss-0.2.90-23.20110621git.fc15.x86_64

How reproducible:
always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. enable evolution-rss
2. configure it to fetch a few feeds
3. fetch/sync mail

Actual results:
evolution's ui is completely locked. Especially when you are writing new mail and evolution fetches mail in the background this is very painful.

Expected results:
UI should not lock up, just like when fetching regular mail.

Christoph,
any particular feed you have configured that is causing this ?
Normally locks shouldn't occur, not that often anyway. Most of rss calls should be asynchronous nowadays.
I believe that this happens only for some certain feeds, perhaps large feeds, or broken feeds.
Could you share your feed or some of your feeds to check ?
Comment 3 Christoph Wickert 2011-08-18 14:34:58 UTC
I deleted all feeds and uninstalled evolution-rss. I reinstalled it in order to find the offending feed, but I was not able to reproduce the problem so far. Once i can or I have found the feed I will reopen the bug.
