GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 643986
fuzzy icon: logview
Last modified: 2011-03-16 15:50:06 UTC
The icon in the App view of GNOME 3 is fuzzy.
<cosimoc> lapo, why doesn't the icon theme generate 256x256 icons for logview? I see you touched it recently, maybe you could fix it? http://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-icon-theme/commit/?id=26e0651e40e0dcc5fbc825d373d7cc3db59f6f8c <lapo> cosimoc: there isn't any :-/ <lapo> cosimoc: I started it but never finished <cosimoc> lapo, can't you generate it from the SVG? <lapo> cosimoc: the svg is 48x48 <lapo> cosimoc: so nope <jimmac> cosimoc: highres requires a lot more detail added. <jimmac> cosimoc: it is super time consuming and it isn't a matter of simply scaling up <cosimoc> lapo, yeah I mean, upscaling the 48x48 icon from the SVG would always be better than having the shell scale up the PNG, no? <lapo> cosimoc: nope, I prefer a blurry icon that a bad one So this should be fixed in gnome-icon-theme
I'm on it.
Lapo any progress?
Created attachment 183480 [details] lapo's logviewer icon I like it. Reusing the edit-find loupe isn't too much of an issue, as this metaphor clash is quite common elsewhere. Examine/find are close.
Looks nice to me fwiw.
I'm not particularly happy with 22x22 and 16x16 icons, but we're in a hurry so I can live with it, I'll do something better for the next iteration. I'd prefer not to ship this icon with gnome-icon-theme anyway, Cosimo is it possible to have it shipped by gnome-utils?
Ok, pushed to gnome-utils master.
