The date and time panel is very slow to open.  Probably doing some sync operations before showing itself.

That's probably the NTP and date query codepaths doing that. This needs to be rewritten to use GDBus and be async. Though that would probably create problems with the initial state.

It seems to be fast enough now. It might have had to do with the broken filtering in the combo boxes. Let me know if this works for you now.
