Description dickeplatte 2010-05-09 12:22:05 UTC
After creating the Sip account i get the error message than i can't register (forbidden).
But the preferences are because other Sip programs works with that settings. I even tried to use Ekiga on a linux vm on the same computer and it works prefectly with exactly same account settings. I tried the version 3.2.pre7, 3.2.6.
thanks

Please give us the debug output, see http://wiki.ekiga.org/index.php/Debugging_Ekiga#Debugging_Ekiga_on_Windows

Hello,
thanks for your response!
But of course i already tried to get debug output. But i always get empty files.
My steps:
Download the 3.2.pre7-debug
open the cmd
go the directory with ekiga.exe
run "ekiga -d 5 1>1.txt 2>2.txt"
try to register with sip registrar
close the ekiga
still two empty files 1.txt and 2.txt

sorry

In which directory have you installed ekiga?
Comment 4 dickeplatte 2010-05-09 17:00:18 UTC
I have it installed here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Ekiga
and i gave my user full rights to the directory+subdirectories
thanks

Hey,

i couldn't get the debug working.(Any hints?)

But now i can register with my Sip provider. I read through the bugs tried some things and finally i found out that it is possible to limit the contact ips with %limit attached to account name.
Thanks for any help

I am working on debug.

So in linux %limit% was in the account name, while in windows it was not?
Comment 7 dickeplatte 2010-05-10 13:48:14 UTC
..found the debug*.txt . They are created on the desktop. :0

I had to add %limit in windows only. That doesn't make much sense, in know. In linux everything worked out of the box.As user i wished the %limit would be documented better, at least in the wiki.

Greetz and thanks

Do you confirm that on gnu/linux it works without %limit% (what version of ekiga?) while on windows 3.2.pre7 it worked only after adding %limit%?
Comment 9 dickeplatte 2010-05-10 14:59:32 UTC
yes i can confirm that! on linux it worked with the 3.2.6 (ubuntu lucid lynx) without having to add %limit.
In https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=592012 they write that you have to add %limit and not %limit% ??
Comment 10 Eugen Dedu 2010-05-10 15:28:24 UTC
This is very strange... Maybe there is a patch for ubuntu which changes that...

Yes, it's %limit ...

When the new unstable version is released, this will become obsolete...
