Description Jean-Philippe Fleury 2010-05-04 12:49:36 UTC
I upgraded from Gnome 2.28 (Ubuntu 9.10) to Gnome 2.30 (Ubuntu 10.04), and now I can't use Shift+left arrow or right arrow to select one character at a time. These keyboard shortcuts result in garbage on command line:

- "Shift+left arrow" prints D
- "Shift+right arrow" prints C

Version: libvte9 1:0.23.5-0ubuntu1

Comment 1 Christian Persch 2010-05-04 12:58:50 UTC
I dont think it has anything to do with 2.28 vs 2.30, since I get the same thing on intrepid with 2.24 and vte 0.17.4.
Comment 2 Christian Persch 2010-05-04 13:01:45 UTC
Moreover, xterm does the same, so why do you think it's a bug at all?
Comment 3 Behdad Esfahbod 2010-05-04 14:08:12 UTC
I can see that being a useful feature, but with ctrl+shift+arrow-keys of course.
Comment 4 Christian Persch 2014-04-12 15:47:59 UTC
Keyboard selection is bug 78291, but I don't think that's what I read comment 0 as being about.

Given comment 3, I'm closing this.
