GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 615578
Switch tabs with control+PgUp/PgDown
Last modified: 2016-09-28 20:48:06 UTC
gedit should support the common Control+PgUp/PgDown key shortcut to switch between tabs.
Not really, that keys are used by GtkTextView, gedit provides already control+alt+pageup/down and alt+# to switch between tabs. Also in case you still want that keys, you can change them by yourself.
Thanks for the tips. Alt+# doesn't seem to be even documented. However, a) I don't see any special effect on doing Control+pageup/down. Are they supposed to just mimic Home/End keys in such case? b) Where am i supposed to change those keys? I see no menu for configuring shortkeys.
You can change the /desktop/gnome/interface/can_change_accels on gconf with gconf-editor and then you just need to put the mouse over the menutiem and press the shortcut you want. Alt+# is not documented because you can already see it in the Documents menu.
Nice. I didn't know it. It's quite hidden. I expected a form like the gnome short keys. I have changed it so now I can use the same shortkey on all the apps I usually run. (I would still change the default, though).
