GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 603297
Can't choose a FileChooserDialog for a FileChooserButton
Last modified: 2018-03-26 15:11:20 UTC
Created attachment 148686 [details] Example Window, FileChooserButton and FileChooserDialog Glade 3.6.3 on Ubuntu 9.10 To reproduce: 1. I click on FileChooserButton and then click inside a window. A window then appears with a spin box asking me to choose "number of items". Has this any meaning in this context? If so what is it? 2. I respond with "1" for number of items, and the FileChooserButton appears inside the window as expected. It is called filechooserbutton1. 3. I click on the top level FileChooserDialog and, as expected, filechooserdialog1 appears at a top level. 4. I select filechooserbutton1 and click on Dialogue [...] under the general tab. A box appears asking me choose a "parentless GtkFileChooser" but it is empty! Surely this should enable me to choose filechooserdialog1? 5. If I click on "New" in the above box the application goes into a busy state (busy mouse pointer),filechooserdialog2 appears to have been created but if the file is saved the application sometimes crashes immediately when it is reopened. See enclosed attachment with Window, FileChooserButton and FileChooserDialog. I can't see this problem in the bug list so don't know if it's been addressed in newer versions.
It seems that FileChooserButton provides a default chooser. This being the case should there still be an option to choose one oneself?
