GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 594583
gnome-pilot restore hangs / does not work
Last modified: 2018-07-02 10:33:33 UTC
Forwarding this from a Fedora bug: http://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=521938 Description of problem: gnome-pilot "restore" does nothing. Following the procedure of hard resetting the palm and then synching triggers a restore but that hangs. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): gnome-pilot-conduits-2.0.17-2.fc11.i586 pilot-link-0.12.3-20.fc11.i586 pilot-link-devel-0.12.3-20.fc11.i586 gnome-pilot-2.0.17-3.fc11.i586 gnome-pilot-devel-2.0.17-3.fc11.i586 How reproducible: Hotsync your Palm immediately after doing a hard reset. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Backup your Palm 2. Hard reset the Palm 3. Hotsync your Palm Actual results: Restore hangs on the "User Identification" step and eventually times out. Expected results: Restore completes with old info back on the palm. Additional info: Per the message thread on the gnome-pilot list from July 2008, it *is* possible to get a restore by manually running pilot-restore -r <path to backup folder> -p usb:
gnome-pilot is not under active development anymore and has not seen code changes for seven years. Its codebase has been archived: https://gitlab.gnome.org/Archive/gnome-pilot/commits/master Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping to reflect reality. Please feel free to reopen this ticket (or rather transfer the project to GNOME Gitlab, as GNOME Bugzilla is deprecated) if anyone takes the responsibility for active development again.
