Description pavel 2009-07-13 23:12:36 UTC
It just happened to me the second time that I accidentally logged out while resizing a partition with gparted, because I used it at 2 o'clock in the night. It should be a trivial fix to just set the inhibit flag using Dbus...

Hello,
There is a downstream report at:
https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gparted/+bug/312440

which describes the similar circumstances:

1) Start a long gparted job
2) leave for it to work
3) come back and the computer is turned off
4) boot computer and see the job never finished.

This bug has been assigned for some time but still not fixed. Is Steven Shiau actually working on this or should the assignment be removed?
Comment 4 Curtis Gedak 2012-01-04 17:27:23 UTC
I believe that this request would have to take into account the specifics of the GNU/Linux version that GParted is running on. Since Steven Shiau helps on the GParted Live image, I assume that the original assignment was taken to ensure that GParted Live does not power off the computer.

As such I have unassigned this bug report.

Trying again to remove "assigned" status...

bugzilla.gnome.org is being replaced by gitlab.gnome.org. We are closing all old bug reports and feature requests in GNOME Bugzilla which have not seen updates for a long time.

If you still use gparted and if you still see this bug / want this feature in a recent and currently supported version, then please feel free to report it at
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gparted/-/issues/
by following the guidelines at
https://wiki.gnome.org/Community/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines

Thank you for creating this report and we are sorry it could not be implemented so far (volunteer workforce and time is limited).
