GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 588494
GParted should inhibit logging out
Last modified: 2020-11-13 10:41:16 UTC
It just happened to me the second time that I accidentally logged out while resizing a partition with gparted, because I used it at 2 o'clock in the night. It should be a trivial fix to just set the inhibit flag using Dbus... Other information:
Hello, There is a downstream report at: https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gparted/+bug/312440 which describes the similar circumstances: 1) Start a long gparted job 2) leave for it to work 3) come back and the computer is turned off 4) boot computer and see the job never finished.

This bug has been assigned for some time but still not fixed. Is Steven Shiau actually working on this or should the assignment be removed?
I believe that this request would have to take into account the specifics of the GNU/Linux version that GParted is running on. Since Steven Shiau helps on the GParted Live image, I assume that the original assignment was taken to ensure that GParted Live does not power off the computer. As such I have unassigned this bug report.
Trying again to remove "assigned" status...
