Description Jonh Wendell 2009-06-22 12:03:00 UTC
Please, install the pt_BR locale on planet web. I've setup planeta.br.gnome.org (config/gnome-br/config.ini) to use this locale so that month names appear in our locale.

Relevant parts of .ini file:
date_format = %d de %B de %Y, %H:%M
new_date_format = %d de %B de %Y
encoding = utf-8
locale = pt_BR.UTF-8

What do you mean? Install an rpm?
Comment 2 Jonh Wendell 2009-06-22 17:13:39 UTC
I don't know how it works on redhat. On Ubuntu there are packages like language-pack-pt.
Comment 3 Vincent Untz 2010-03-02 09:25:03 UTC
This seems to be something that should be handled by the sysadmins.
Comment 4 Alexandro Silva 2010-04-06 01:21:32 UTC
I edited the file /etc/sysconfig/i18n adding pt_BR.UTF-8:pt_BR:pt in the line SUPPORTED.

LANG="en_US.UTF-8"
SUPPORTED="en_US.UTF-8:en_US:en:pt_BR.UTF-8:pt_BR:pt"
SYSFONT="latarcyrheb-sun16"

Could you test please?
Comment 5 Jonh Wendell 2010-04-06 11:29:44 UTC
It didn't work, you can try it by yourself, just go to http://planeta.br.gnome.org/

The date shown is "05 de April de 2010", it should be "05 de Abril de 2010". (the month is in English)
Comment 6 Owen Taylor 2010-04-06 15:30:28 UTC
I think this problem was originally misdiagnosed and has nothing to do with locale installation and editing /etc/sysconfig/i18n also nothing to do with anything.

$ ssh planet.gnome.org
[otaylor@window ~]$ LC_ALL=pt_BR.UTF-8 date
Ter Abr  6 15:25:31 UTC 2010
Comment 7 Christer Edwards 2010-09-07 21:56:06 UTC
@Owen - if this is misdiagnosed, where should we refer it? If it is something the sysadmins can fix, I'd like to do so. If not, let's make sure it gets to the right people.
Comment 8 Owen Taylor 2010-09-07 22:18:26 UTC
No idea, it's something for the maintainers of planeta.br.gnome.org to debug.
Comment 9 Jonh Wendell 2010-09-08 11:22:16 UTC
Owen, I think you mean "the maintainers of planet planet software". I, as maintainer of planeta gnome brazil have no idea on how to debug the software installed on the gnome servers.

All I can do I've already done, see my comment 0.
Comment 10 Olav Vitters 2011-09-26 21:16:46 UTC
I don't get the problem, so closing as it wont be solved.
