Description Ned 2009-06-22 10:15:20 UTC
At the moment Nautilus shows "Send To..." in it's right-click menu. This brings up a dialog with a drop-down list with items "Instant Message (Pidgin)", "Email (Evolution)", "Removable disks and shares" or "CD/DVD Creator" depending what is found.

The rest of the dialog morphs depending on what you select, maybe showing another drop-down with online contacts.

Opening this dialog, you will only see one option ("Instant Message (Pidgin)" if it's running). The other options are not immediately visible. These are unnecessarily buried, especially for a new user looking to send files to bluetooth or a flash drive.

I believe showing these options in a sub-menu of "Send To >" would increase discoverability. Pressing "Instant Message (Pidgin)" would just bring up the dialog with the correct item preselected in the drop-down list.

Bluetooth and USB storage devices might be listed directly, after a separator, rather than showing the dialog.

nautilus-sendto for GNOME 3.8 only supports sending files through an email client. In the future, other sharing options will be implemented through portals (an equivalent system to Android intents).
