Empathy sets the audio volume to 0 if the user disabled the mic, instead it should probably change the stream direction. On XMPP you can't do a none stream direction currently though. Need to check if there is a better approach in the current media API

Setting the volume to 0 is the right approach I think. We should also tell the CM to mute (so the other side is informed if possible).
