Description houghi 2009-02-20 23:32:26 UTC
Currently it is not possible to open images on different screens.
`gimp --display :0.0 image1` will open the image on screen 0 en when you close it and then do `gimp --display :0.1 image2` it will open on screen 1.

When you do it without closing the first instance, the second will open it on display :0.0, screen 0, instead of the other screen.

I can then use `->View -> Move to screen` to move the image, but it would be better if this can be done from the prompt and that --display acts as expected.

Also it would be good if you can decide to open the toolbox in one screen and the image on another screen (and even a second image on a third screen)

This should at least work for Multi Window mode and hence is to be considered a bug there.

For Single Window, currently, it can't work by design. But that raises again the topic of having these 2 modes. Ultimately, as said many times, we should have a single flexible mode where images and docks can be either integrated or on separate windows.

I also notice that the --display option uses X vocabulary. We should check if this still works with Wayland.
