GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 567531
Empathy does not display idle times
Last modified: 2018-05-22 13:18:28 UTC
Empathy should show how long a contact has been idle.
That's probably something we could put in the contact tooltip.
implementing it directly in the main UI also wont be bad as it wont take much space as we already would have idle in the status msg it could be like idle for xx mins pidgin does it this way. and it doesnt look ugly and if it is done in tooltip i am guessing many users will miss it. and overall since many of my friends (and i am guessing many ppl in general) are idle for most of the day i think this would be a good addition.
This is indeed a great feature to have.

From the dupe: I requested seeing the contact's login time as well as the idle time.
This just needs a UI, right? Support for reding this info is in telepathy?
No, we don't have any API in Telepathy for that yet.
