Description Jaap A. Haitsma 2008-02-16 20:51:31 UTC
I found it weird that evince progress bar did not show me the progress in a document anymore and was about to file a bug.

Then I found the continious item in the view menu.

I don't see why we would need this option. I would always want it enabled. It's also not an easy option to understand for novices

There was similar bug but I can't find it.
Comment 2 Jaap A. Haitsma 2008-02-17 21:34:25 UTC
Nickolay,

Do you agree with removing the continious option in the view menu and have it always enabled?

Jaap

I do and Bryan Clark was going to do it long time ago, but I can't find the original bug :( Something is wrong with my bugzilla search capabilities.
Comment 4 Jaap A. Haitsma 2008-02-18 06:55:24 UTC
If it's any consolation, I can't find it either.

The OP may find Continuous better than not, but not everyone agrees on that.

It is sort-of-OK in some circumstances — and certainly has improved quite a bit over how I remember it from when I last experimented with it — but non-Continuous remains the preference here.

I could, though, deal with it becoming the default for new installs.

But not for (all) new documents!

I think a good solution would be to have toolbar buttons for slides (non-continuous, best fit) and documents (continuous, fit width).
