GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 46371
Can't use Nautilus with blackbox
Last modified: 2009-08-15 18:40:50 UTC
Nautilus looks very cool, but it 'overlaps' my Blackbox(a window manager) bar, so this means that I can't use Nautilus and Blackbox together, because I need that bar. I don't know whether there is any way to disable that it totally captures my desktop - I want Nautilus to browse files, nothing else... * REPRODUCIBLE: Always * STEPS TO REPRODUCE: As explained above * ACTUAL RESULTS: http://services.eazel.com/download/h * EXPECTED RESULTS: http://services.eazel.com/download/h ------- Additional Comments From sullivan@eazel.com 2001-02-06 09:10:45 ---- The before/after result links in this bug report don't work, at least for me. Assigning to John Harper as our resident window manager expert. Leaving for Don to consider priority. ------- Additional Comments From jsh@pixelslut.com 2001-02-06 12:13:15 ---- AFAIK blackbox doesn't support the GNOME window manager hints, hence it's lack of support for the desktop window. A possible fix could be to check for a gnome-compliant wm running before creating the desktop window. If none exists then create the window override-redirect and lower it (this is similar to how the panel used to support non-compliant wms). (But this is a hack, and sloppy-focus mode probably still wouldn't work correctly, see bug #46038) ------- Additional Comments From eli@eazel.com 2001-02-09 11:28:43 ---- Duane is now the proud owner for Desktop QA. ------- Additional Comments From jsh@pixelslut.com 2001-02-15 15:51:11 ---- *** Bug 46674 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** ------- Additional Comments From don@eazel.com 2001-02-16 15:39:42 ---- Not a 1.0 blocker. ------- Additional Comments From eli@eazel.com 2001-03-26 11:20:11 ---- SPAAAAAAAAAM! (Jon Allen has taken these components; QA Assigning bugs to him.) ------- Bug moved to this database by unknown@bugzilla.gnome.org 2001-09-09 20:59 ------- The original reporter (morten@wtf.dk) of this bug does not have an account here. Reassigning to the exporter, unknown@bugzilla.gnome.org.
Changing to "old" target milestone for all bugs laying around with no milestone set.
Is this still an issue?
