Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. Unfortunately, that stack trace is missing some elements that will help a lot to solve the problem, so it will be hard for the developers to fix that crash. Can you get us a stack trace with debugging symbols? Please see http://live.gnome.org/GettingTraces for more information on how to do so. Thanks in advance!

(In reply to comment #17) > What additional information do you need. What do you need me to do... ALl i > have to do is try and open evoluiton and i can duplicate it. We need you to install debug symbols for evolution, evolution-data-server, glib2, and gtk2 (see http://live.gnome.org/GettingTraces/DistroSpecificInstructions for how to do this) and then get us a better stack trace (see http://live.gnome.org/GettingTraces/Details#obtain-a-stacktrace for more information on this) Other reporters of duplicate bugs, this advice applies to you also. We need a good stacktrace from any of you!

() from /usr/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0 If you can reproduce this, can you please install the gtk2-debuginfo package, and then get us a new trace?
It's already installed: # rpm -qa | grep debuginfo gtk2-debuginfo-2.10.11-7.fc7 evolution-data-server-debuginfo-1.10.1-1.fc7 evolution-debuginfo-2.10.1-4.fc7 glib2-debuginfo-2.12.11-1.fc7 Additionally your own extract of my last crash shows that some of the symbols from the same library are getting resolved. Little hard at the moment to do more due to time difference and not being in front of the machine that's reproducing this, but can reproduce under gdb as well. Though trying to step up from the actual crash to get the frame information doesn't seem to behave quite as expected: (evolution-2.10:30505): GdkPixbuf-CRITICAL **: gdk_pixbuf_new_from_file: assertion `filename != NULL' failed (evolution-2.10:30505): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_ref: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.

all the ~40 dups of bug 444141 are from Fedora 6.93 - 7.89, no other distros. and all the ~40 dups of this bug here are also only from Fedora. i wonder if this is a distro-specific patch, or if only fedora ships the latest gtk+ version so far. copying from bug 434491 (duplicate?):
