I don't think we have anything on this; at least, I can't find it so it's as good as.

What we need to say:

Typing into a nautilus window selects the first item whose name matches what you've typed. Eg, type 'fo' and you'll get file or folder 'foobar'
To move the selection to other matching files (eg 'foozzz'), press DOWN ARROW or CTRl-G (as in Find Next).

Tab (which is what I instinctively used) doesn't work -- it navigates the focus to other parts of the UI.

Where we need to say it:
- selecting files
- searching for files (cross-reference)

This bug is confirmed.

We won't fix this in the current user guide, and this will require some thought or planning for the current guide.

I'm going to leave this bug open for the GNOME 3.0 planning cycle as this should be addressed as a topic, but not as a task, that needs to be thought about and planned correctly.
