GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 363860
Evince does not use proper orientation, and can't be changed in dialog
Last modified: 2007-01-08 21:37:32 UTC
Please describe the problem: I have a PDF file which is in landscape mode. When starting evince with this file it shows correctly as a landscape A4 document (showing A5 pages side-by-side). When printing this document the pages are printed as A4 portrait, giving me only half of the page and a lot of whitespace. I could not find any setting in the print settings or the page setup to manually change the orientation. Steps to reproduce: 1. Download the PDF file: http://www.ns.nl/servlet/Satellite?cid=1076347961117&pagename=www.ns.nl%2FTocht%2FTochtDetail&p=1069240372056&c=Tocht The documents are at the bottom of the page. You want to get the "Routebeschrijving" 2. Open in evince 3. Print Actual results: The document is printed in A4 portrait mode. Expected results: The document should be printed sideways, in A4 landscape mode, so that the whole page is actually printed. Does this happen every time? Yes. Other information: I would be best if evince would just do the right thing, but I would also be happy to have an option to change orientation. Given the fact that evince properly opens and displays the file on screen I doubt that the PDF file is in error, but it might still be nice to overrule this manually by selecting orientation.
I can confirm the problem with Evince 0.6.1.
I've just fixed it in cvs head. Evince has now a page setup dialog. Thanks for the report.
